| The girls varsity bowling team defeated Olympia Monday to
run their record to 2 wins and no losses by a score of 2086 to 1969. Robin
Wright led the attack with a nice 510 series and a 202 game. Abby Bass also
had a nice 428 series. The match was close throughout. The girl's won the
first game by 8 pins but fell behind by 107 after the second game. The girls
then shot a nice 776 game to win going away. The boys varsity also increased to 2 wins and no losses with a 2599 to 2388 score. Greg Mullica had games of 222 and 210 on the way to a 615 series. Kyle Paxson a lso had a nice 205 game and 584 series. The boys won the first game by 50 pins and never looked back after that first game. Charles Morris saw his first varsity action and shot a nice 193 game as a sub. "As a whole, both varsity teams bowled well. The approaches were stickier than we were used to but both varsity teams shook off the problem and did well in their third games. It was a good tuneup for the next matches against always tough University and Timber Creek, our next two opponents." The JV bowling teams also got to see their first action. The boys defeated Olympia by a score of 2089 to 2085. Aaron Scheer led the scoring with a 511 series. "The match was close throughout and we were fortunate to win. The approaches and constant machine breakdowns made it difficult for the young bowlers." The JV girls lost in a match delayed and finally ended by equipment
failure. Ashley Preston led the girls scoring, but individual totals were
lost in the computer meltdown. After considerable waiting, Coach Kampe
and the Olympia coach decided to use the 2 game totals as the final. The
score was 1139 to 943 in favor of Olympia. |

The boys varsity bowling team was defeated Thursday by University
High School by a score of 3028 to 2958. Kyle Paxson bowled a nice 741 series
with games of 248, 245 and 245. Andrew Calvache, Craig Mullica, and Mitch
Schilling also had one or more 200 games. However, they were unable to overcome
the attack made by the opposing team.
The girls JV won by forfeit. The boys JV stayed undefeated by beating University by a score of 2347
to 2248. Bryan Crawford had a nice 214 game and a 545 series to lead the
attack. James Morris also had a nice series of 506. They had to overcome
a deficit of nearly 100 pins after the second game to pull off the victory. |
